The canton Schwarzenborn was an administrative unit in the Hersfeld district of the Werra department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The city of Schwarzenborn in today's Schwalm-Eder district was the capital of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace . The canton comprised 17 villages and hamlets, had 4,251 residents, and an area of 2.28 square miles .
