The canton Niederaula was an administrative unit in the Hersfeld district of the Werra department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was Niederaula in today's Hersfeld-Rotenburg district . The canton comprised 11 villages and hamlets, had 3,093 residents and an area of 1.60 square miles .
