The canton of Neukirchen was an administrative unit in the Hersfeld district of the Werra department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The city of Neukirchen (Knüll) in today's Schwalm-Eder district was the capital of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace .

The canton comprised 15 villages and hamlets and one city, had 4,251 inhabitants and an area of ​​1.82 square miles .
