Hergetsfeld is a district of the North Hessian community Knüllwald in the Schwalm-Eder district with about 70 inhabitants and a district of 130 hectares.

history

Hergetsfeld was first mentioned in 1331 as Hergersfeld in the property registers of the Hersfeld Abbey . Between 1380 and 1450 the place Hergetsfeld was probably a desert . In the years 1462 and 1537, only one house is recorded in Hergetsfeld, otherwise the place was still desolate. The fields were cultivated from Appenfeld , Hülsa and Wallenstein . Since 1537 Hergetsfeld belonged to the court at the forest and to the office Homberg . After 1585 the place was inhabited again.

With the regional reform in Hesse , Hergetsfeld became a district of the Knüllwald community on December 31, 1971 .

Origin of name

Hergersfeld is derived from the personal name Heriger . This includes the old German hari, heri (Gothic harjis = army).
