Rengshausen is a district of the municipality Knüllwald in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .

Geographical location

Rengshausen is located in the northern part of the Knüllgebirge around 4.5 km east of Remsfeld , the seat of the Knüllwalder municipal administration. It is located at the confluence of the Lingelbach in the Fulda tributary Beise . In the hit state roads 3254 and the 3465th

history

The oldest surviving written evidence of the place dates back to 1003 and comes from the boundary description of the marriage ridge in a deed of gift from King Heinrich II about game rights to the Hersfeld Abbey . In the document the place is mentioned as "Regingozeshuson". The "Rengshausen court" with the villages of Hausen, Licherode, Lichtenhagen, Nausis and Nenterode belonged to the Rotenburg office from 1579 , which was part of the Rotenburger Quart from 1627 to 1835 .

On December 31, 1971, the municipality of Rengshausen formed the new municipality of Rengshausen together with the municipalities of Hausen, Lichtenhagen, Nausis and Nenterode as part of the regional reform in Hesse . This in turn was incorporated into the municipality of Knüllwald on January 1, 1974 by virtue of state law . Local districts were set up for all formerly independent municipalities .

Until 2015 the place was a recognized climatic health resort.

Infrastructure

There is a primary school in the village . A Diakonie institution, the Beiserhaus Foundation , is also based here.
