Lichtenhagen is a district of the municipality Knüllwald in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .

Geographical location

The place is surrounded by forest in the Knüllgebirge in northern Hesse at the foot of the Rommelsberg.

history

The " Rengshausen court " with the villages of Hausen, Licherode, Lichtenhagen, Nausis and Nenterode belonged to the Rotenburg office from 1579 , which was part of the Rotenburger Quart from 1627 to 1835 .

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the new large community with the name Rengshausen was formed on December 31, 1971 through the merger of the previously independent communities of Hausen , Lichtenhagen, Nausis , Nenterode and Rengshausen .

On 1 January 1974, this community was, in the formation of the Schwalm-Eder district , with the municipalities Berndshausen and Niederbeisheim powerful state law in the greater community of Knüllwald incorporated . Local districts were established for all former municipalities .
