The Beise , also called Beisebach , is an approximately 20.8 km long, left or southwestern tributary of the Fulda in the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg and Schwalm-Eder district in East Hesse .
course
The Beise rises in the northeast part of the Knüllgebirge ( Knüll ) southwest of Hainrode , a municipality part of Ludwigsau . Its source is located southeast of the Klosterstein ( 527.6 m above sea level ) below the Alte Straße forest path in the wooded area at Bärenwinkel .
Initially, the Beise in the municipal area of Ludwigsau flows northeast through Hainrode and then along the state road 3253 to and through Ersrode . There it bends to the north-west and runs along the L 3254 below the village, after crossing the Beise viaduct on the high-speed route Hanover-Würzburg , into the Schwalm-Eder district .
In it, the Beise flows in the municipality of Knüllwald through the villages of Hausen and Rengshausen , where the Lingelbach joins, and from now on north-northwest, crossing under a disused section of the cannon railway, to Niederbeisheim , where the Breitenbach flows. Crossing its route a few more times, it turns, the Hennemühle , after which the Ertzelsbach flows into, and passing Rote Mühle , along the district road 29 to the northeast.
After passing the Grüneismühle , the Beise flows into the municipal area of Malsfeld , in order to flow into the Beiseförth district of the river Fulda , which comes from the south-east and forms a bend in the river. Its mouth is a few meters north of the Fulda bridge of the L 3427.
Beisetal-Mühlen-Radweg
The approximately 22 km long “Beisetal-Mühlen-Radweg”, which is marked and signposted with “MR”, runs along the Beise from its source to the mouth. Once there were 26 mills along the Beise, of which 12 still exist by name. Some are still preserved and in operation. Along the cycle path there are, among other things, outdoor pools and restaurants, as well as the forest nature trail near Rengshausen and the bee museum in Niederbeisheim.
