Salzberg is a part of the community of Neuenstein in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in East Hesse .

The place is in the Knüllgebirge on the upper reaches of the Geisbach .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1190 when it was given to the Hersfeld Monastery .

On December 31, 1971, Salzberg was incorporated into the new community of Neuenstein.

Infrastructure

There is a village community center in the village . The Protestant church stands in the center of the village and is dated to 1554 above the portal. The parish, evangelically reformed since 1608, has been parish in Raboldshausen since 1575.

Landesstraße 3155 runs through the village. Local public transport is provided by the regional traffic Kurhessen buses with the 370 line.
