Gittersdorf is a district of the community of Neuenstein in the eastern Hessian district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg . The place is in the Knüllgebirge , on the course of the Geisbach .

In the north the federal road 324 leads past the village. Local public transport is provided by RKH Bus GmbH with line 370, under the organizational umbrella of the North Hessian Transport Association (NVV) .

history

In 1343 Gittersdorf is first mentioned as Villa Gutwinsdorf . After that, the place was called Guthernsdorf from 1456 until it received its current place name .

On December 31, 1971, Gittersdorf was incorporated into the new community of Neuenstein.
