Reilos , already incorporated into the municipality of Friedlos before the Hessian regional reform , is now part of the municipality of Ludwigsau in northeast Hesse in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district .

Geographical location

The place is in the eastern part of the Knüllgebirge at the beginning of the Rohrbach valley . In the east the federal road 27 leads past Reilos.

history

Reilos was first mentioned in writing in 1347. The “Ludwigsaumühle” at the confluence of the Rohrbach in the Fulda lowland belongs to the Reilos district . At this confluence the 1416 from the previously stood I. Landgrave Ludwig built castle Ludwigsaue from which until the 19th century the remains were visible. The half-timbered houses and the St. Gallus Chapel from the 11th century are well worth seeing . On April 1, 1969, Reilos was incorporated into the Friedlos community.

The independent municipality of Reilos was incorporated into the municipality of Friedlos on April 1, 1969 on a voluntary basis . On December 31, 1971, Friedlos was incorporated into the newly formed community of Ludwigsau as part of the regional reform in Hesse, together with Reilos . Since Niederthalhausen opposed the amalgamation to the municipality of Ludwigseck, the municipality of Ludwigseck was dissolved again by state law on August 1, 1972 and the associated municipalities and Niederthalhausen as well as Meckbach and Rohrbach were forcibly incorporated into the large municipality of Ludwigsau. Reilos became a part of the Ludwigsau community.

Infrastructure / public facilities

There is a village community center and an old people's home in the village . The public transport , the ÜWAG Bus GmbH with the line 320 safe. The place has experienced rapid development in recent years.

The Besengrund Center is located in the immediate vicinity of the B 27. Two bakers, a butcher, a clearance sale and two large grocery chains have settled there. Until the beginning of 2012 there was also a branch of a drugstore chain here.
