Beenhausen is a district of the municipality of Ludwigsau in northeast Hesse in the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg in the eastern part of the Knüll .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1179, with the place name Bennenhusen . In 1238 a (today Protestant) church is mentioned. The court “in der Rohrbach ” (later Ludwigseck court ) consisted of the villages Beenhausen, Gerterode, Heierode, Rohrbach, Ober- and Niederthalhausen and Tann in 1538. In some cases, Ersrode, Trunsbach and the Schöpbach desert are also included. The court was located in the village of Tann. From 1579 the court belonged to the Rotenburg office , which was part of the Rotenburger Quart from 1627 to 1835 .

On December 31, 1971, Beenhausen , which was then part of the Rotenburg district , was incorporated into the new Ludwigseck community . This was already dissolved on August 1, 1972 and came to the municipality of Ludwigsau.

The Rohrbach rises near Beenhausen and flows into the Fulda after 14 km . State road 3254 runs through the village .
