Today there is one of the smallest (or the smallest) half-timbered churches in Germany in Allmershausen. The church is popularly known as the body and soul house , because before the renovation as part of the village renewal at the end of the 1980s, a bakery and a parking space for the old hand sprayer and later the portable fire pump trailer of the volunteer fire brigade was housed on the ground floor of today's church , and Services were only celebrated on the upper floor.

On December 31, 1971, Allmershausen was incorporated into the district town of Bad Hersfeld.

The renovated church was inaugurated in 1991 and today there is a service there every two weeks, alternating with Heenes. The cemetery with a small chapel is on the eastern edge of the village. The portable fire pump (TSF-W) of the volunteer fire brigade has been housed in a new building since March 2011. Since around the mid-1980s, the federal road has been running on a new route south of the traffic-calmed town center.
