The Communauté de communes du Val de Galilée was a communal union ( Communauté de communes ) of ten municipalities in the Vosges department in Lorraine .

The municipal association had 3957 inhabitants (2007) on 84.01 km², which corresponded to a population density of 47 inhabitants per km². The seat of the association was the municipality of Ban-de-Laveline , the president of the municipal association was Jean-Jacques Daillot .

The member municipalities are located between Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and the ridge of the Vosges in the valley of the Fave and its side valleys. Except for the municipalities of Raves, Frapelle and Neuvillers-sur-Fave, the area of ​​the municipal association is part of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park .

The municipal association was created on December 29, 1997 under the name Communauté de communes des Vallées de la Morte et du Blanc-Rû from the three communities Ban-de-Laveline, Gemaingoutte and Wisembach. Two years later, the municipalities of Bertrimoutier, Combrimont, Frapelle, Lesseux, Nauvillers-sur-Fave and Raves were added. The association was renamed.

In the 7th century monks invaded the valleys of the Vosges. This is how the hermit Deodatus came to Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. The valley east of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges was called the Valley of Galilee ( Val de Galilée ) by the monks .

On January 1, 2003, the municipality of Croix-aux-Mines was accepted as the tenth member of the municipal association, the aim of which is to pool the material resources of the municipalities and to coordinate economic and tourist development. The area of ​​responsibility of the municipal association includes spatial planning and cross-community economic development. The Communauté de communes du Val de Galilée has also set itself the goal of working closely together in the areas of housing construction and energy efficiency, culture, health and welfare, environmental protection and waste management.

On January 1, 2014, the municipal association became part of the new, larger municipal association Fave, Meurthe, Galilée, together with the also dissolved associations La Fave et la Meurthe and La Fave .
