Heckmeck am Bratwurmeck is a dice game by Reiner Knizia , which essentially consists of eight special dice and 16 game tiles , the bratworm portions . It was published in a German / English version in 2005 by Zoch Verlag and has meanwhile also been published in other language versions.

Backstory

The players act as suppliers for a roast worm grill and are supposed to scrape worms, whereby a competition arises and a worm dug up by a player can still change its owner.

Thematically, the game joins a number of other animal-related games published by Zoch Verlag such as Hick Hack in Gackelwack , Zicke Zacke Hühnerkacke and Gloria Picktoria .

Game flow

In Heckmeck am Bratwurmeck, the individual players try to get as high a total as possible by throwing eight dice and setting aside dice symbols, with the frying worm portions in the middle with a value of 21 to 36 eyes. The game is played with regular six-sided dice, where the six is replaced by a worm symbol that counts five points. During a turn , the respective player chooses all dice of a dice symbol after each roll, which now count towards the score. The remaining dice can be rolled again. With the following throws it should be noted that a dice symbol cannot be chosen again that has already been laid out. While on the one hand the number of dice to be thrown continuously decreases, the symbols that can be laid out are also limited. If a player does not find a symbol in his throw that he can still select, his current move ends without a point. In addition, he must put his last portion of fried worm back in the middle. An essential element of tension is therefore to find the right time to end the roll of the dice and thus the game move and at the same time to maximize the result of the dice. In order to limit the duration of a game round, the highest stone in the middle is turned over after a bratworm stone has been put back. H. removed from the game if it is not the one that was replaced.

Depending on the number of points achieved, the player may take the one with the corresponding number of points from the middle of the table from among the 16 fried worm portions, but must have at least one worm symbol in his combination. If there is no such thing, either the next smaller one is selected or the corresponding fried worm portion is taken away from a fellow player, provided that the number is exactly correct. The players stack the fried worm portions in front of them to form a small tower; only the last fried worm portion received can be stolen.

The game is over when there is no more fried worm portion in the middle. The winner is the player who has reached the highest number of fried worms on the stones he has collected.
