Héctor Bianciotti
Héctor Bianciotti (born March 18, 1930 in Calchín Oeste , Córdoba ; † June 11, 2012 in Paris ) was an Argentine - French writer and literary critic .
Life
Bianciotti was a son of Italian immigrants from Piedmont . In 1942, at the age of 12, he entered a Franciscan monastery . There he got to know French literature , especially the works of Paul Valéry . In 1954 he went to Europe for six years, first to Italy and later to Spain.
In February 1961 he finally moved to France and in the early 1980s to write in French. In 1981 he also obtained French citizenship . In addition to his work as a writer, he also worked as a literary critic for the daily Le Monde and for the weekly Le Nouvel Observateur . Bianciotti is now considered to be one of the most important representatives of contemporary French literature.
On January 18, 1996, Bianciotti was admitted to the Académie française as the successor to André Frossard ( armchair 2 ).
