Hedwig Keppelhoff-Wiechert
Hedwig Keppelhoff-Wiechert (born May 31, 1939 in Südlohn , Münsterland ) is a German countrywoman and politician ( CDU ).
Life
After attending the technical college, Keppelhoff successfully passed the exam to become a master of rural housekeeping. She was initially chairwoman of the Velen rural women's association , later in the Borken district and president of the Westphalian-Lippe rural women's association. From 1987 to 1998 she was finally President of the German Rural Women's Association . She was also the chairman of the rural education center, the working group for further training in Westphalia-Lippe and the federal working group for holidays on the farm.
Keppelhoff is politically active in the CDU, where she was a member of the Borken district executive and the state executive. At COPA , a part of COPA-COGECA , she was a member of the rural women’s committee from 1976 to 1991, of which she was vice-president from 1986 to 1989. In 1989 she was elected to the European Parliament , of which she was a member until 2004.
