At the address Hegelstraße 25 there is a listed building in Magdeburg 's Altstadt district in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local heritage list , it is since January 26, 1994 under the registration number 094 82 708 as a monument listed.

history

The building was built in 1907 and 1908 as part of the southern city expansion of Magdeburg, which began in 1870, as a royal state archive. The design of the building came from the chief building officer Georg Thür and the government building officers Willy Schuhmann and Hermann Hams were responsible for the planning and implementation. In the 1990s the roof, the windows and parts of the administrative wing were renovated. The building was last used by the State Archives of Saxony-Anhalt until it moved to Brückstrasse 2 in 2012 . Today the building is empty.

The building is an asymmetrical structure with an L-shaped floor plan. It has steep gable roofs and stepped gables . On the Elbe side there is a low magazine wing.

location

The building is located in the old town of Magdeburg, between the Elbbahnhof and Hasselbachplatz. The Hegel-Gymnasium is located in the immediate vicinity .
