Heide-Linde Mehlitz (born Richter ; born January 20, 1941 in Cottbus , † November 28, 1988 in Berlin ) was a functionary of the Free German Youth (FDJ) and the Democratic Women's Association of Germany (DFD).

Life

Heide-Linde Mehlitz, a professional teacher and graduate social scientist, headed the FDJ district organization Finsterwalde until 1966 and was then active on the FDJ Central Council until 1978 . In 1978 she took over the management of the International Relations Department on the DFD's national board. In March 1982 she was given by the XI. Federal Congress of the DFD elected member of the Presidium and Secretary of the Federal Executive Board of the DFD, responsible for the international work of the women's organization. In this function she was a member of the GDR Peace Council and was Vice President there from February 1982 until her sudden death in 1988. Mehlitz represented the DFD in the IDFF Council and had been a member of the World Peace Council since June 1983 . She was a member of the SED and was awarded the Clara Zetkin Medal . She was divorced and had a daughter.
