The half-timbered house at Heidelberger Landstrasse 224 is a building in Darmstadt-Eberstadt .

History and description

The half-timbered house was built around 1700 . The gable , unplastered two-storey half - timbered building was built from softwood . The building, located in the Modau floodplain , was later solidly lined with brick on the ground floor .

From 1845 onwards, a post office for the Thurn and Taxis postal administration and also a stop for three lines of the so-called “traveling and riding post” were housed in the house.

The half-timbered house is a cultural monument for architectural and city-historical reasons .
