Heidenreich von Oer (the Elder) (* around 1340 ; † around 1410 ) was an Elector of Cologne ministerial and temporarily Marshal of Westphalia and thus deputy to the archbishop in his capacity as Duke of Westphalia .

Life

He came from the noble family von Oer and was the son of Heinrich von Oer. Heidenreich was a squire in 1365. In 1372 he is mentioned as Marschall / Drost von Arnsberg . Before that, he advanced 2000 gold florins to the Archbishop of Cologne for the castles and the Arnsberg region. This sum was repaid by the city of Soest . Archbishop Friedrich promised in 1372 that from now on the office of Marshal of the County of Arnsberg and that of the Duchy of Westphalia should always be linked. The county of Arnsberg should not be pledged again until the archbishop has repaid the 2000 guilders to the city of Soest. A year later he is named as a bailiff of Recklinghausen . Since 1378, after Gotthard von Wevelinghofen left, he was officially Marshal of Westphalia. Before that, the archbishop had transferred the office to Heidenreich for 6,000 guilders. In the battles between the Archbishop of Cologne and the Counts of the Mark , Heidenreich apparently supported the people of Cologne strongly, because he was promised 10,500 gold guilders as a replacement for the war costs. In 1389 Heidenreich von Oer acquired the Oberhof Oer from the Cologne cathedral chapter . From 1409 he was also Schulte zu Korne. He expanded the Horneburg into a residence. Heidenreich was married to Neyse von Wickede. The sons Heidenreich (the younger) and Heinrich emerged from the marriage.
