Heidi Suzanne Julavits (born 1968 in Portland , Maine ) is an American writer.

Life

Heidi Julavits grew up in Portland and attended Dartmouth College . She studied languages ​​and received an MFA from Columbia University . She was a Guggenheim Fellow . She has been an author since 2003 and now also publisher with Vendela Vida of the literary magazine The Believer .

Julavits married the writer Ben Marcus and they live in Manhattan with their children .
