Heidi Voelker (born October 29, 1969 in Pittsfield , Massachusetts ) is a former American ski racer .

biography

Voelker was born the youngest of four children into a ski-loving family and grew up in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. From 1985 to 1997 she was a member of the US national ski team. The first international success was in 1987 a second place in slalom at the Junior World Championship in Sälen, Sweden . In the Ski World Cup , Voelker was among the top ten six times. In January 1994 she achieved the only podium finish of her career with third place in the giant slalom in Morzine .

At the Olympic Winter Games and at the World Championships Voelker was a member of the US team three times. She achieved her best result in 1991 at the World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm with 8th place in the slalom.

Voelker ended her active career in the spring of 1997 with a third place in the giant slalom at the US national championships. Today she lives in Park City with her husband and two sons and works as an ambassador for the Deer Valley Ski Resort .
