Heiko Nossek

Heiko Nossek (born March 14, 1982 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a German water polo player .

Heiko Nossek was a member of SV Cannstatt from 2003 to 2006 , with which he became German champion in 2006. After SV Cannstatt withdrew its Bundesliga team, Nossek moved to Greece for one season and then returned in 2007 to his home club, SSV Esslingen . After the Olympic Games in 2008, Nossek moved to Rari Nantes Sori in the Italian professional league, where he became the top scorer straight away. In 2009, Nossek decided to move within the Italian league to Rari Nantes Imperia . From 2010 to 2012 Nossek started for Rari Nantes Bogliasco in the small Ligurian coastal town of Bogliasco near Genoa. For the 2012/13 season he returned to SSV Esslingen. During this season he was elected top scorer in the German Water Polo League and water polo player of the year.

Heiko Nossek has been part of the German national water polo team since 2002. He took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens when the German team reached 5th place. At the 2005 World Cup , the German team finished 9th, in 2007 the team came 8th in 2003 and in 2008 the team was sixth at the European Championships. Nossek made 307 international matches. In February 2017, he ended his national team career.

Nossek studied the Bachelor's degree in International Management at the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences , a degree that was adapted to the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences and specially designed for top athletes.
