geography

Bogliasco is the first municipality you come across when crossing the Riviera di Levante from the Ligurian capital, Genoa, in an easterly direction . Together with the municipalities of Camogli , Recco , Pieve Ligure and Sori , Bogliasco forms the coastline of the Golfo Paradiso . The municipality is divided into the districts of Poggio Favaro , San Bernardo and Sessarego .

The coast in the Bogliasco section shows an alternation of small beaches and high cliffs; the water quality is considered to be good and there is the possibility of surfing . The hinterland is typical of the Levant : The barren mountain slopes of the Ligurian Apennines leave little room for the characteristic small olive groves , but offer a good basis for hiking excursions with wonderful views.

According to the Italian classification for seismic activity , Bogliasco was assigned to zone 4. This means that there are practically no earthquakes in the region.
