Ceranesi ( Ligurian Çeranexi o Çeànexi ) is an Italian municipality in the metropolitan city of Genoa with 3735 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

The municipality is located in the upper Val Polcevera and forms part of the Comunità Montana Alta Val Polcevera , whose administrative seat is in Ceranesi.

The most important mountain peaks on the territory of the municipality are the Monte Foscalio (988 meters), the Monte Seiéu (958 meters), the Monte Orditano (939 meters) and the Monte Figogna (804 meters) at the highest point the Santuario di Nostra Signora della Guardia lies. Ceranesi is connected to the Genoese district of Pegli via the Lencisa pass at an altitude of 568 meters .

The largest watercourse in the municipality is the Verde stream with tributaries San Martino , Torbi , Burba , Molinassi and Lischeo . On the Piani di Praglia ( Praglia Plains) south of the Apennine mountain range are the artificial lakes of Gorzente . These were built in the region between 1880 and 1926.
