Montoggio ( Ligurian Montêuggio ) is an Italian municipality in the metropolitan city of Genoa with 2022 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

The municipality is located in the Scrivia valley, near the Laccio and Pentema streams, from which the Scrivia River emerges. The distance to the Ligurian capital Genoa is approximately 26 kilometers.

Montoggio belongs to the Comunità Montana Alta Valle Scrivia .

According to the Italian classification for seismic activity , Montoggio was assigned to zone 4. This means that the community is in a seismically inert zone.
