Pieve Ligure ( Ligurian Ceive ) is an Italian municipality in the metropolitan city of Genoa with 2,485 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located about 15 kilometers from the Ligurian capital Genoa between the municipalities of Bogliasco in the west and Sori in the east. In the south, the municipality borders the Golfo Paradiso of the Ligurian Sea , while the mountainous hinterland in the north is uninhabited. Here the peaks of the Ligurian Apennines tower over the narrow coastal strip of the Riviera di Levante .
In the past, the municipalities of Sori and Pieve Ligure were united as Pieve di Sori . Today, the municipality of Pieve Ligure is unofficially divided into Pieve Bassa and Pieve Alta .
The residents of the municipality are usually called Pievesi .
