Ronco Scrivia ( Ligurian Ronco ) is an Italian municipality in the metropolitan city of Genoa with 4219 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
location
Ronco Scrivia is located in the Scrivia valley on an alluvial plain at a double curve of the Scrivia river , from which the municipality is divided into two districts. Both parts of the community are bounded by numerous elevations; the Monte Reale (902 meters) is the highest of these. There are numerous settlements in the surrounding mountains, which mainly serve agriculture . In addition, the Lago della Busalletta reservoir is in the immediate vicinity and supplies the neighboring municipality of Busalla and the regional capital Genoa with drinking water.
The municipality is separated from the Ligurian coast by the Apennines . The location in the mountains of the Ligurian Apennines is also responsible for the harsh climate (often with snowfall in winter), which contrasts with the mild weather conditions of the Italian Riviera .
Ronco Scrivia forms the Comunità Montana Alta Valle Scrivia with nine other municipalities . The territory of the municipality belongs to the Parco naturale regional dell'Antola (Antola Regional Nature Park).
economy
Motorsport accessories manufacturer and automotive supplier OMP Racing has its headquarters and production facilities in Ronco Scrivia.
