The SSV Esslingen , full name: Schwimmsportverein Esslingen eV , is a sports club in the Baden-Württemberg city of Esslingen am Neckar .

The association was founded in 1908. In 2010 it had 2,700 members, making it the largest association in its city. He leads the departments swimming and water polo , as well as latitude and Health Sport . Sports facilities are the Inselbad in Untertürkheim , the Merkel indoor pool in Esslingen and, in summer, the club's own pool ( 48 ° 44 '  N , 9 ° 20'  E ) on the Neckar Island.

The 1st men's water polo team has been a member of the German Water Polo League with a few interruptions . In the 2009/10 season she finished fifth after the main round. In the final round, after losing the semi-finals to the record champions Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 , in the play-off of the “small final” against SV Bayer Uerdingen 08, they lost 8:12 and placed fourth. In the cup final, the Esslingen team lost 11:16 to ASC Duisburg , which secured the third German water polo cup.
