Waspo 98 Hannover , officially water sports enthusiasts from 1898 Hannover e. V. , is a sports club from Hanover . He is best known for his water polo team, which became German champions in 2018 and German cup winners three times from 2017 to 2019. The club, with its swimming and water polo divisions, has over 1000 members. The club area is located at the Lister Bad , which is used by the club as well as the Volksbad Limmer . Water polo games on a larger scale are played in the Stadionbad Hannover .
history
The association emerged from the merger of the associations SV Wasserfreunde 1898 Hanover and water sports Hanover-Linden in October 2012. The water polo teams of both clubs have been playing together since 2003 in a game community, SG W98 / Waspo Hannover .
In June 2019 Waspo hosted the “Final Eight” final of the Champions League.
