SV Krefeld 72
The Swimming Association Krefeld 1972 eV (SVK72) is one of the largest sports clubs in Krefeld with around 5000 members . The SVK operates a private outdoor pool near the city forest which is only available to members and their guests.
The association emerged from KSV 93 and KSK 09 in 1972. The club has departments for popular sports such as water aerobics, aqua jogging and hiking. The most successful department of the club is the water polo department . In 2005 the first team was promoted to the second Bundesliga, a year later to the first Bundesliga, to which it has belonged ever since. The swimming department is just as successful . The teams regularly take part in championships, and the youngsters also regularly win medals in the younger age groups. Children's swimming and aqua jogging activities round off the offer, plus there are attractive social events.
