Mark Kendall (* 20th September 1958 in Blackwood ; † 1. May 2008 ) was a Welsh football - goalkeeper and U-21 national team .
Life
Kendall signed a professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur as a teenager and played his first league game in November 1978 against Norwich City . After four years he left the club and moved to AFC Newport County . There he and the team won the Welsh Cup competition and made it into the European Cup Winners' Cup . In 1986 he moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers , with whom he won the Football League Trophy . As a substitute goalkeeper at Swansea City , he won the Welsh Cup a second time .
Kendall ended his career as a professional footballer at the age of 34 and became a police officer. There he was also active as a football coach and was named coach of the year in 2007.
