Artistic work

Since 2006, Wommelsdorf has been working on room concepts and compositions using the phasing principle . This composition technique has its origins in the 1970s with the work of the American composer Steve Reich , a contemporary of John Cage and a pioneer of minimal music .

Wommelsdorf's installations are extremely reduced in material and add visual components to the pure acoustics. The reception of his composition takes place through seeing and walking as well as through hearing. He concentrates on sound phenomena from everyday life and uses everyday objects such as plastic buckets, TV sets, ventilation shafts, fluorescent tubes, intercom systems or baby monitors. The interaction of sound and object, space and light creates obvious optical-acoustic sound-space sculptures.
