Heinrich Althans

Heinrich Althans (born July 2, 1905 in Rinteln ; † July 31, 1984 there ) was a German politician and district administrator.

Heinrich Althans studied law at the University of Marburg after graduating from high school in Rinteln . In 1930 he passed the legal traineeship and in 1934 the assessor exam. After brief employment at the Rinteln District Court, he became legal advisor at the Cologne Police Headquarters. In the following year he was transferred to the Hanau district office as a government assessor and in 1936 was appointed to represent the district administrator of the Bütow / Pomerania district . On October 16, 1938, he was appointed to the government council and on February 11, 1939, he was commissioned to manage the Paderborn District Office. By unanimous decision of the district committee on July 17, 1939, Althans was appointed district administrator of the Paderborn district on October 27, 1939 . He remained in this office until 1945 when the US troops occupied Paderborn and he was interned by the British occupying forces. After his release from captivity in 1949, Althans worked for the house and landowners in Rinteln and settled there as a lawyer in 1953, until he was elected city director of Rinteln in November 1957. He remained in this office until he retired in 1969. From 1921 to 1924, Althans was the local group leader of the Young National Federation . He joined the NSDAP on December 1, 1931 and was the local propaganda group leader in Rinteln and legal adviser to the NSDAP district leadership.
