Heinrich Christian Rust

Heinrich Christian Rust (born August 9, 1953 in Bückeburg , Lower Saxony , Germany ) is a German Baptist clergyman, theologian and author who is close to the charismatic movement within the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches (BEFG). He is married and has three children.

Life

In 1974 Heinrich Christian Rust graduated from the District Trade College in Rinteln . After studying theology, he worked from 1979 to 1983 as a state youth pastor in Lower Saxony and then from 1983 to 1996 as pastor of the Evangelical Free Church Community (Baptists) in Hanover-Walderseestrasse. In 1992 he was at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Leuven with his dissertation The Salvation of Children. Religious education in the German Baptist doctorate . In 1996 he took over the management of the department for community development in the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany. From 2003 to 2019 he was pastor of the Braunschweiger Friedenskirche. As a lecturer for spirituality, pneumatology, church building and leadership, he works at the Institute for World Mission and Church Building (IGW), the Academy for Christian Leaders and in the Bible School of the Faith Center Bad Gandersheim. Rust is a co-initiator and on the advisory board and the Christian Health Congress Germany. He is involved in ecumenical dialogue in the Christian Convent Germany (CCD) and advocates the interaction of the four basic dimensions of Christian ecumenism: the ecumenism of truth, hearts, mission and worship.
