New life e. V. is a non-denominational mission and education organization based on the German Evangelical Alliance . The non-profit association was founded in 1954 by Anton Schulte and is based in Wölmersen near Altenkirchen (Westerwald) .

New Life works mainly in the areas of theological education, evangelism, holiday offers, Christian therapeutic counseling and media. In addition to the production of TV and radio reports, the magazine Neues Leben is published. With its subsidiary plants, Neues Leben is also involved in diaconal projects at home and abroad.

Neues Leben is a recognized independent organization for youth welfare , a member of the Diakonisches Werk of the Evangelical Church in Germany and the netzwerk-m of the EKD's Working Group of Evangelical Youth (AeJ) .

In 2020, the previous mission director Wilfried Schulte handed over the reins to a management team: Olaf Becker as chairman of the board (areas of finance and management), Steffen Schulte (content-related direction of the plant) and René Schulte (areas of strategy and corporate development).

Rhineland Theological Seminar

The Rhineland Theological Seminar with a campus in Altenkirchen / Wölmersen is a non-denominational theological study center with an evangelical character. It was founded by Neues Leben in 1985 as a theological seminar with the aim of providing students with a practice-oriented and theologically sound education.

As a study institute, the seminar is affiliated with the Society for Education and Research in Europe and is also a member of the KBA , an association of 33 theological seminars in German-speaking Europe.

New life media

The Medienwerk Neues Leben Medien produces:

  • the magazine Neues Leben (own name: "Das Christian Ratgebermagazin")
  • the quarterly mission report He Lives - Insights into missionary work
  • a weekly radio program Info-G / Radio Amigos , which is broadcast on Radio New Hope , Radio HCJB (shortwave, also for South America), Spanish VHF stations (including the Christian Alternativa-C ) and over the Internet, and

Since the 1960s, Neues Leben has set up independent factories in various other countries. Today these include:

  • New Life Canada has been producing a German-language Christian radio program since 1963, which was broadcast in Vancouver until 2008 . Even today, devotions in German can still be heard on a local telephone number.
  • Neues Leben Ghana eV founded in 1972, today based in Jettingen , currently works in the following 9 African countries in 36 locations: Egypt (2), Benin (1), Burkina Faso (4), DR Congo (5), Ghana (11 ), Congo-Brazza (2), Mali (8), Mauritania (1), Togo (2).
  • New life Austria has a focus on child and youth work, especially in tent camps and adventure camps in Upper Austria.
  • New Life Switzerland supports missionary work in Switzerland. The plant is also responsible for the Swiss branch of SRS Pro Sportler.
  • New life France mainly supports the missionary work of parishes in Corsica.
  • New Life South America was founded in Argentina in 1990 in collaboration between the German evangelist Willi Buchwald and the Argentine pastor Erich Würfel as Nueva Vida . The plant runs a children's home and a radio and television mission as well as evangelism work, Bible camps and literature work for various countries in South America.
  • New Life Indonesia became an independent plant in 1998. It supports school education for children as well as nutrition programs for the poor population of the country.

This branch of work was founded in 1971 by Helmfried Riecker under the name Sportler ruft Sportler . Since 1987 this branch has been an independent, registered club organized in the Sportbund Rheinland. SRS has set itself the goal of doing missionary work among performance-oriented athletes. Today SRS works with 29 permanent employees and several hundred voluntary employees in numerous sports in Germany and maintains contacts in over 20 other countries. SRS works with athletes such as the German baseball player Simon Gühring , the soccer players Zé Roberto , Dirk Heinen and Claudia Hicks , the track and field athletes Katharina Rupf and Wolfgang Kreißig , the tennis player Sascha Petrascheck and the cyclist Marc Heinzelmann .

In Altenkirchen, the Christian sports organization operates, among other things, the Glockenspitze International Sports and Seminar Center with the SRS SportPark and cooperates with the Rhineland Theological Seminar in the Sport Mission study program.
