The netzwerk-m e. V. , until 2012 the Ring Missionary Youth Movements (RMJ) , is an umbrella organization with evangelical character of 77 free church and church community member organizations with around 6,800 full-time and 30,000 volunteer employees, which represents and supports its members in their diverse core competencies, especially in the areas of youth and families, volunteering, education, refugees, humanitarian aid, development aid and human rights, inclusion, diversity, sports, music and community service.

The association is a professional association of the Diakonisches Werk of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), a member of the Working Group of Evangelical Youth in Germany (aej) and the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development (PaRD). It is recognized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Family of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate as a carrier of free youth welfare , is the carrier of the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) and is involved in the Christian job placement agency CPS, which was founded in 1994 and which he developed further until October 2012.

history

The association was founded on December 5, 1974 as the Ring of Missionary Youth Movements (RMJ). The starting point was joint missionary activities during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. The common goal of all affiliated institutions is the fulfillment of the missionary mandate as understood in accordance with the Lausanne obligation . In 1975 the association became a member of the Working Group of Protestant Youth. In 1978 the first use in the non-church sector was carried out at the Frankfurt Book Fair. In 1982 the first European conference for leaders of youth missionary works was held with around 140 participants. In 1983 the association was recognized as a sponsor of the FSJ, from 2002 also for other countries. In 1985 the main board of the Evangelical Alliance officially recognized what was then the Ring of Missionary Youth Movements. In 1986 the RMJ became a registered association and was recognized by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate as a carrier of free youth welfare. In 1988, as in the subsequent events, he played a key role in organizing the Christival youth congress in Nuremberg. In 1991, a donation check certificate was developed and awarded together with the German Evangelical Alliance and the AEM. In 1992 it was accepted as a professional association of the Diakonisches Werk. In 1997 the location of the main office was relocated from Altenkirchen to Kassel .

tasks

The association organizes projects, events and conferences, provides specialist information on personnel and legal issues and provides a wide range of services for over 500 plants.

The netzwerk-m is the sponsor of voluntary services such as the Voluntary Social Year and the Federal Voluntary Service and also operates the deinjahr.org portal for other Christian volunteer services. It offers FSJ and BFD places nationwide in around 300 locations where almost 1,000 volunteers were active in Germany and abroad in 2016.

The association's chairman is currently Gaetan Roy , mission leader of the youth, mission and social work in Altensteig. In February 2015 he succeeded Andreas Wenzel (Word of Life Europe eV), who handed over the chairmanship after 12 years.
