Heinrich Dade (born January 6, 1866 in Wustrow ( Mecklenburg ), † December 28, 1923 in Berlin ) was a German agricultural economist .

Dade studied engineering in Hanover , then switched to economics in Munich and received his doctorate at the Royal University of Berlin in 1891 with a thesis on the development of the Mecklenburg percussion economy, which is often cited to this day. From 1895 to 1923 he was general secretary of the German Agricultural Council , whose publication organ (magazine for agricultural policy or magazine of the German agricultural council) he edited. After completing his habilitation in 1901 , he held economics lectures at the University of Berlin. Since 1904 he carried the title of associate professor . During the war of 1914/1918 he was Secretary General of the War Committee of German Agriculture, an association of all agricultural organizations.

Dade is the author and editor of numerous economic and agricultural policy books and publications. The two-volume monumental work “ Agriculture under Kaiser Wilhelm II ”, published by him in 1913, is significant for the history of agricultural sciences . Conceived as a "gift of honor by German farmers" for the 25th anniversary of the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II , it contains richly illustrated depictions of outstanding farms in Germany and of planting societies in the German colonies . A noteworthy contemporary document on the situation in agriculture after the First World War is the book, which he co-edited in 1918, “ Working goals of German agriculture after the war ”.
