Heinrich Draeger

Heinrich Draeger (born March 4, 1907 in Bilsdorf (Saar) , † April 6, 1991 in Völklingen ) was a German politician and member of the CDU .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1927 at the humanistic grammar school in Saarlouis (today "SGS - Saarlouiser Gymnasium am Stadtgarten"), Draeger, who was of the Roman Catholic faith, studied mechanical engineering in Karlsruhe and graduated in 1932 with a diploma . He initially worked in the iron and steel industry and later in aircraft construction. a. at the Junkers works in Dessau . In 1946 Draeger left the Soviet occupation zone and returned to Saarland , where he initially worked as a self-employed engineerworked. In the 1950s he became a lecturer at the "State Engineering School Saarbrücken". Draeger was married and had two children.

He was a member of the Catholic student associations KDSt.V. Normannia Karlsruhe and KDSt.V. Carolus Magnus Saarbrücken.

Political party

In the first Saar referendum in 1935, Draeger fought for the German front . After being admitted to the CDU in 1955, he joined the CDU and was committed to rejecting the Saar Statute .
