Heinrich Droege

Heinrich Droege (born August 6, 1933 in Frankfurt am Main ; † November 2, 2011 there ) was a German writer . It is commonly assigned to workers' literature.

Life

Heinrich Droege was born in Frankfurt am Main and spent his life there. He trained as a toolmaker , worked in the profession for 3 years and later worked as a telecommunications technician. Since 1990 he has worked as a freelance writer.

Together with Ernst Petz , he was co-founder and co-publisher of Aarachne-Verlag in 1991, as editor of various anthologies and publications, as a trade unionist (since 1948) and as a functionary in the literature business. He was federal chairman of the working group for literature in the world of work and a founding member and first chairman of the Hessen Literature Society.

His work dealt mainly with questions of the world of work, also includes the topics of death and social and political questions. His work is commonly assigned to workers' literature. As a writer and editor, he has published around 17 books in total.

Heinrich Droege died on November 2, 2011 in Frankfurt am Main of complications from cancer. He was buried in the Goldstein forest cemetery.

His estate is located in the Fritz Hüser Institute for Literature and Culture in the Working World in Dortmund .
