Heinrich Clemens Engberding (born May 23, 1869 in Saerbeck , † February 16, 1939 in Münster ) was a German shipowner and politician ( DVP ).

Life and work

After attending the rectorate school, Engberding completed a business apprenticeship and then worked in this profession. He later became the shipping company director and had been a member of the board of the Münsterschen Schiffahrts- und Lagerhaus AG since 1900. He was also a member of the Waterways Advisory Council in Hanover and Münster and the Reich Waterways Advisory Council in Berlin . He also acted as chairman of the association of the merchants and the associated employers' association.

Engberding was a city ​​councilor in Münster and from 1919 to 1929 a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia . From 1921 to 1924 he was a member of the Prussian state parliament . In the Reichstag election in May 1924 , he was elected to the German Reichstag , of which he was a member until 1928.
