Heinrich Gebhardt (classical philologist)

Heinrich Christian Friedrich Gebhardt (Latinized Henricus Christianus Fridericus Gebhardt ; born February 2, 1798 in Hof (Saale) , † May 31, 1868 ibid) was a German classical philologist , high school teacher and politician. He was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

Heinrich Gebhardt studied Protestant theology and classical philology at the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen . There he was Renonce of the Bayreuth team. In 1817 he joined the old Erlanger fraternity . In 1823 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD .

In the Paulskirche parliament of 1848 he was a member of the constituency of Upper Franconia . He remained non-attached.

From 1853 he was a grammar school director in Hof and became a grammar school professor . Several times he was synodal in Bayreuth and Ansbach .
