Heinrich Geissler (art historian)

Heinrich Geissler (* 1927 in Obernigk ; † 1990 ) was a German art historian .

Heinrich Geissler studied art history and received his doctorate from the University of Freiburg in 1960 .

He worked for the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart for many years , where he was in charge of the graphic collection . He was a recognized figure in the field of German graphics, particularly early modern German drawing. Heinrich Geissler was very active until his death, he suddenly died on a business trip.
