Heinrich Getzeny

Heinrich Getzeny (born May 26, 1894 in Ludwigsburg , † April 1, 1970 in Stuttgart ) was a German cultural philosopher and publicist.

Life

During his youth he grew up with his uncle Paul Rießler , the professor of the Old Testament, in Tübingen . There he graduated from high school and studied Catholic theology, philosophy, art, history and economics. In the years after World War I, he initially worked as secretary of the Catholic People's Association in Berlin . In 1925 Getzeny returned to the Rottenburg diocese . He became known through the art drives. After the war he resumed lecturing, which was banned by the National Socialists in the Third Reich. He gave lectures in the farming schools in Marientann, Bad Waldsee and especially in Wernau (1950-1970).
