Heinrich Hiesinger
Heinrich Hiesinger (born May 25, 1960 in Bopfingen ) is a German industrial manager and was CEO of thyssenkrupp AG from January 21, 2011 to July 6, 2018 .
Life
He grew up on a farm, attended grammar school and graduated from high school before going to the Technical University of Munich , where he graduated as an electrical engineer in 1986 . In 1991 he received his doctorate. After working as a research assistant at the Technical University of Munich from 1986 to 1991 , he joined Siemens in 1992 . Before his appointment to the central board, he held various functions within the group. In 1999 he became head of the Siemens Metering AG division in Zug / Switzerland , which today operates under the name Landis + Gyr . In 2000 he was appointed to the Divisional Board of Power Transmission and Distribution . Three years later he was sent back to Switzerland as a " renovator " - namely as chairman of the divisional board and chairman of the executive board of Siemens Building Technologies AG , which has now merged with the regional company Siemens Schweiz AG .
After various turbulences in connection with the corruption affair at Siemens, in which the company was involved in 2007, he was appointed to the central board as successor to Johannes Feldmayer , where he was responsible for six business areas. At the end of 2007, he was also to oversee the corporate personnel that Jürgen Radomski had held until then , but whose contract was not extended by the Siemens AG Supervisory Board at the end of 2007 . On January 1, 2008, he took over the management of the newly created Siemens Sector Industry .
On May 4, 2010, thyssenkrupp AG announced that Hiesinger would take over from Ekkehard Schulz as CEO from January 2011 . To this end, he resigned from the Executive Board of Siemens AG on September 30, 2010 and initially acted as Deputy CEO of thyssenkrupp AG from October 1, 2010. With effect from the end of the Annual General Meeting on January 21, 2011, the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp AG appointed Hiesinger as CEO of thyssenkrupp AG.
On July 5, 2018, Hiesinger asked the supervisory board of thyssenkrupp AG to terminate his mandate as CEO. His successor is CFO Guido Kerkhoff . Although Hiesinger has resigned, he should still receive two annual salaries and part of the bonuses.
