Heinrich Kurz (politician)

Heinrich Kurz (born September 22, 1867 in Grötzingen ; † October 26, 1934 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Heinrich Kurz was born the son of a farmer. He attended the Grötzinger elementary school from 1874 to 1882, did military service from 1888 to 1890 and worked as a metal grinder at the Gritzner machine factory until 1904 . In addition, he was involved in the union and was chairman of the metalworkers' association in his home community. He was dismissed due to a strike. Following his job as a grinder, he worked as an innkeeper and meat inspector until 1916. Then he worked as a farmer in Grötzingen.

Kurz joined the SPD in 1893 and was elected to the executive committee of the SPD Grötzingen, which he chaired from 1906 to 1933. From 1893 to 1907 he was a member of the citizens' committee and from 1907 to 1933 a member of the municipal council in Grötzingen. He was a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly in the Grand Duchy of Baden from 1909 to 1918. In January 1919 he was elected to the constituent state assembly of the Republic of Baden and thereafter he was a member of the Baden state parliament without interruption until 1933 .

After the National Socialists came to power , he was imprisoned for several months.

Heinrich Kurz had been married since 1917.
