Heinrich Lorenz (born August 24, 1810 in Berlin , † January 6, 1888 in Hamburg ) was a German medalist .
Life
Lorenz studied at the Royal Prussian Academy of the Arts . From 1832 he worked in Vienna . After being in Rome in 1834/35 , he returned to Berlin in 1835 as a medalist. From 1848 to 1858 he headed the Royal Mint in Altona . After two years from 1859 to 1861 as chief medalist at the Hermitage (Saint Petersburg) , he went to Hamburg in 1862 . With his son Johann Jacob Lorenz , he ran the joint Lorenz & Son workshop there from 1869 to 1871 . He was also a member of the Hamburg Artists' Association from 1832 .
