Heinrich Ludwig Geyer

Heinrich Ludwig Geyer (born November 11, 1848 in Stuttgart ; † May 10, 1911 there ) was a German pharmacist.

Life

Geyer comes from a family of pharmacists and learned pharmacy from his father in Stuttgart.

He was an assistant in Bern , Vevey and Wiesbaden . He completed his studies at the polytechnic school in Stuttgart in 1871 with the pharmacy exam. He then studied chemistry at the University of Munich and received his doctorate in 1873 at the University of Heidelberg . He then worked as a chemist at the Württemberg Central Office for Trade and Industry in Stuttgart. From 1874 to 1875 he worked in the Elberfeld alizarin and aniline factory .

When his father died, he went back to Stuttgart and took over the Kreusersche pharmacy there, which he ran until his death.

In addition to managing the pharmacy, he was also a member of the committees of the state pharmaceutical association of Württemberg. He was chairman of the Neckar Circle from 1885 to 1894 and chairman of the regional association from 1894 to 1909. He was also a member of the board of the German Pharmacists' Association from 1894. Due to his successful management of the association, he was appointed court counselor by the King of Württemberg in 1901 .

Heinrich Ludwig Geyer was also a founding member of the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg .
