Heinrich Joseph Ludwig Marr (born December 24, 1807 in Hamburg , † October 29, 1871 in Munich ) was a German genre painter.

Heinrich Marr began his artistic training with Christoffer Suhr in Hamburg and continued it with Friedrich Rosenberg in Altona . After studying in Copenhagen , he began his studies on September 8, 1825 in the landscape class at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich . Then he studied privately with the Munich painters Max Joseph Wagenbauer , Peter von Hess , and Eugen Napoleon Neureuther . Heinrich Bürkel and Joseph Petzl .

After completing his studies, Heinrich Marr settled in Munich and soon became known as a genre painter of scenes from the life of the villages of Bavaria and Tyrol. He seldom visited Italy and the German North Sea coast.

His success led him to serial production of pictures to the taste of the Munich bourgeoisie. Heinrich Marr was a member of the Hamburg Artists' Association .
