Heinrich Niemeyer (architect, 1936)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich Johann Niemeyer (born November 22, 1936 in Tübingen ; † 2010 ibid) was a German independent architect.

Around 1977 he had built for his family in Rottenburg-Dettingen .

Niemeyer's style was partly based on other futuristic architecture such as that of Frank Lloyd Wright , Antoni Gaudí or John Lautner and combined work and living space under one roof.

He joined the fraternity Unitas Markomannia.

The Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer was a distant relative of his.

Niemeyer lived and worked until his death in the small, "romantic-enchanted" house in the middle of nature at Charlottenstrasse 22 in Tübingen, which was not built by him but was older and was demolished in 2016.
